The article clearly says it:

Windows will index Fixed and Removable_except_floppies, and if the add-on is installed, Network will be indexed as well. So Floppies are the only possible option.

I try it with Mapper Sample.

I set scFloppyDiskette in StorageCharacteristics and force system to do a search by content (Folder options / Search / Always search file names and contents).

But when I try a search by content in Windows Explorer, it always perform a read of all my files in current folder of Mapper's virtual storage. The solution not prevent to perform a search by content like I ask you.

Have I do something wrong?

Thank you,
Davide

Have you also specified the disk type as removable?

If you did both and GetDriveType returns Removable, then you need to address the question to Microsoft, not to us.

I try it in both cases :

Case A
mCbFs.StorageCharacteristics = (int)(CallbackFileSystem.scFloppyDiskette);

Case B
mCbFs.StorageCharacteristics = (int)(CallbackFileSystem.scFloppyDiskette
+ CallbackFileSystem.scRemovableMedia);

Furthermore I set that Windows Search always perform a search by content (Folder options / Search / Always search file names and contents). In both cases the operating system perform a search by content. It's right?

I think Microsoft communities or Microsoft support are a better place to ask.
