Thanks. Before i check the problem with a specified build, please specify what type of cbfs disk you've created and how do you check the problem - refresh explorer window with F5 or just restart it.

The system has been restarted several times since the InstallIcon call.

Here is the disk creation:

1. Call the SetOn... functions for callbacks
2. CreateStorage();
3. SetIcon(L"BDRIVE_ICON");
4. AddMountingPoint(pointPoint.c_str(), 0, NULL); // pointPoint is a std::wstring containing "E:"
5. MountMedia(timeout);
6. SetFileSystemName(L"Test");

Let's take a look at the problem from the other point of view:

1) does your code work on some other system? If you didn't try, please do this now. Knowing the answer would help us localize the problem.
2) can you please modify Mapper sample with your code and if the problem exists, post the modified source code to HelpDesk?

Sincerely yours

I've just checked the issue on windows7 x64 edition, using cbfs version 3.2.115 and it does work with a provided icon. So it would be better to have a sample project from you that can demonstrate the problem. Thanks in advance.

Sorry for the delay in responding. I ran the Mapper app, adding a SetIcon call and I did not see the icon there either. I am in the process of trying all of this on a different machine. Will let you know.

Thanks.

Ok, it works on a physical machine. It appears it is not working on the virtual machine I have been using. Any thoughts on that?

It is hard to say, I have tested on a virtual VMWare machine too, and it works without problem.

If VM size can be reduced to 20Gb or less, we can probably download it from your for testing. I think the problem is not in the VM itself, but in some software installed or configured in a specific way in this VM.
