Is it possible to install the contents of cbfs.cab manually and not use the installer helper DLL? I'd like to install it manually for testing purposes only.

I already found out how to install CbFsMntNtf3.dll (regsvr32.exe CbFsNetRdr3.dll), but am also interested in CbFsNetRdr3.dll and cbfs3.sys.

Thanks alot!

This has been asked before and the answer remains negative. The installation code does plenty of things which you would have to reproduce in your code which makes no sense.

Thanks for the fast answer. I only found posts that you must use the installer.dll for a "real" installation, but was curious if CBFS could be installed manually for testing purposes only.

This doesn't make a difference. The drivers need to be properly setup in the system anyway.

As for previous discussion - indeed search doesn't quickly reveal it (though this question is asked from time to time).
