Are there any potential downfalls to writing a .NET windows service to host the callbacks as opposed to writing it into a windows form?

Advantages I see are that the end-user doesn't have to worry about making sure they are running a certain application to ensure their drives are visible. The service would be installed with the product and set to automatically restart.

I don't see any disadvantages, but I am still new to using CallbackFS.

No, there aren't. And as I know some of our clients use CallbackFS in a such way.

Although my code is not .NET, I am running CbFs as a Windows Service and it works finne that way. Good luck with your application.
