In your documentation you recommend setting the timeout value to some reasonable number like 30 seconds in our release versions.

I was wondering what would happen if we had a file that existed on a magnetic tape device and it took longer than 30 seconds to mount the tape? Would the Open callback timeout in that case? And if so, how do you propose we handle such a situation?

Never mind!

I just saw in your documentation the call to ResetTimeout(). In our open callback, if we determine that the file resides on a device that will take a long time to open, we can use this function to reset the timeout value and I believe that will take care of the issue. I will implement this and let you know if it works.
