Hi

Is it possible to create a folder in the virtual drive without creating a folder on the cache? (I.e. without creating a physical folder on c:\1\)?

I saved some information (folders path & files name) in a database and I would like to represents these information in the logical drive.

Thanks in advance

Khayralla

Sure. It's up to you to decide where the destination data is located. The folder "c:\1" is just a part of the sample program.

You are probably running Mapper sample. You need to take a look at other samples, such as VDisk and VMounter. One of them is simple (with flat-file structure, without folders), another one is a complete in-memory virtual disk with folders.

Hi

thanks for replaying.

So I think it is just removing the path "C:\1" and without mounting ??

Hi

Under Samples/VDisk, there is a code named Mounter?
Is it VDisk sample?

Do you want to read the data from a container file? You can do this in two ways:
1) take SolFS Driver Edition which does exactly this
2) use Callback File System in conjunction with SolFS Standard Edition.

The second approach is used by several of our clients. There's no sample for doing this, but this is *very* similar to using Windows API. I.e. you can modify Mapper sample to use SolFS Standard edition in less than an hour.
