Connection Timeouts Error Code 10060

I have my BizTalk Receive Location polling every 1 minute a remote folder using the SFTP Receive Adapter with the Socket Timeout set to 60000. It polls OK for the 20 or so times and then continually returns a 10060 Connection timeout. Only restarting the BizTalk Host appears to clear down the errors before 20 or so successful tries and then errors with the 10060 Connection timeout.
This is also affecting the Send SFTP Adapter which occasionally sends to another remote location.

Hello Stewart,

Is there any firewall or IPS running in your BizTalk environment? It looks like the firewall only allows a limited number of outbound connections per process, and blocks all subsequent connections after the limit has been reached. So the first thing to check is the firewall logs.
