After installing SBB v6.1 and creating a PGP receive location I'm seeing an issue where the Host Instance that is controlling the receive location spikes the CPU to 100% and the following errors are thrown in the event log:

I've tried completely uninstalling SBB v6.1 (including removing the adapters and the existing locations) and then reinstalling SBB v6.1 and creating a new receive location from scratch and the error is reproduced.

Thanks,
Kel

This may be an issue with v6.1, I uninstalled v6.1 and installed v6.0 and the issue that throws the error and spikes the CPU on the host instance doesn't occur. Has this issue been reported before?

Also, I don't think your uninstall cleans up the GAC like it should, I still GAC'ed assmeblies from v6.0 and v6.1

Thanks,
Kel

Thank you for your message.

Would you be so kind to specify the exact configuration of the adapter (omitting sensitive properties, of course)? Unfortunately, we were unable to reproduce the issue you have reported.

Besides, are there any other errors reported in the event log? It is likely that "error threshold exceeded" error is a consequence of some other error rather than the original error.

The assemblies might be hold by the running BizTalk server process. Thank you for reporting this, we will add the necessary notification/checkups to the uninstaller. BTW, would you be so kind to specify the versions of .NET framework installed on the server machine?

Using Win2k3 Standard SP2 with BizTalk 2006 R2. I've attached the bindings being used for our 'BizTalk Application 1' which should only contain a Receive Port and Location. I've also attached a text file containing the events thrown after the Receive Location is enlisted to the DW Reporting error to the Host Instance starting back up.

I just uninstalled v6.0 with the Host Instances stopped and it still left the v6.0 assemblies gac'ed.

.NET 2.0 SP1 & .NET 3.0 SP1

Let me know what else you need.

Thanks,
Kel

Any update on this or the other issue with the passphrase being displayed in the Event Log?

Thanks,
Kel

Sorry for the delay. We were not able to reproduce the "Error threshold exceeded" issue in our development environment, so we are playing with different configurations now. BTW, would you be so kind to check if the BTS crash issue occurs with the latest 7.0 build?

The password dumping issue has been fixed. The fix will go to the future build update. As a quick fix, setting Trace Mode property to Warning/Error prevents the password from being written to the log.

I will try it with v7.0 but that is still in pre-release, correct?

As far as the password dumping, 'Trace Mode' was already set to Error and it was still logging to the Event Log. I even set 'Trace Mode' to Fatal AND 'Trace to Event Log' to NO and the messages are still being written to Event Log. I restarted the host instances and it is still occurring.

And when you say fix will go to future build update, will that be an update to v6.1 or v7.0?

Thanks,
Kel

Yes, 7.0 is on pre-release stage at the moment. However, there've been introduced a number of changes to it, so the result of your test might shed some light on the issue, in particular whether we have to take a look into the differences between 6.1 and 7.0.

Yes, I've also re-checked the fix and found that my advice won't suit you, sorry.

v7.0. Unfortunately, there's no technical possibility to introduce fixes to 6.1. I will consult with the developer, probably there does exist some way to suppress log messages without upgrading to 7.0.

I uninstalled v6.1 and installed v7.1. I reimported my bindings and though the DW Reporting errors aren't getting thrown, I can't even Encrypt a file. I'm receiving this error, Could not load file or assembly 'SecureBlackbox.PGP, Version=7.0.0.152. When I look in the GAC I see a version of 7.0.0.153. I also can't even clean up the GAC with the older versions (v6.0 and v6.1) because I get an error, "Assembly 'SecureBlackbox.BizTalk.Adapters.PGP' could not be uninstalled because it is required by other applications." when v6.0 and v6.1 had been uninstalled.

Please find the answer in the Helpdesk ticket -- I have answered there, as the forum does not accept attachment of big files.
