The web site uses so-called cookies for various purposes as described below.
What is a cookie?
Cookie is a small piece of information sent by the server, stored by the client and then used by the server again. When the browser receives the cookie from the server, it stores the cookie locally and sends it back to the server on subsequent connection. You can find comprehensive information about cookies on www.aboutcookies.org.
How cookies are used on the site?
Cookies are used on EldoS site to
- remember authentication information (when you created an account on the site and logged in);
- remember various settings made by you on various pages of the site (eg. language filters in documentation, sort order in VoxPopuli wishlist plugin etc);
- remember the choice made in the price calculators, so that on the next visit to the calculator these options are restored;
- track how visitors reach our site and the path they take through it to help us improve our service to you.
When you use embedded Youtube player, AddThis buttons or other third-party modules embedded to the site (such as Facebook or Google+ buttons), the corresponding web services can install and use their own cookies. EldoS site doesn't control storage or access to those cookies.
How do I block cookies?
Cookies are sent by the server (it doesn't know that the user has opted out of cookies without tracking user information itself) and the browser can be configured to ignore cookies and not to remember them. Please refer to documentation for your browser to find out how to disable cookies. You will find comprehensive information about cookies and how to disable or delete them on www.aboutcookies.org.
What happens when cookies are disabled?
With cookies disabled you will not be able to authenticate on the site. Authentication is needed to access My Control Center (licenses and licensed downloads), write to Forums (public support channels) and use HelpDesk (individual support channel).
