MsgConnect is a cross-platform protocol-independent communication framework designed to simplify the task of building peer-to-peer and client-server applications and middleware components.

Code packages are independent licensing units. Each code package can be used with one or more platforms and development tools. Currently the following code packages are available:
Linux installation contains GPL version of C++ and Delphi code packages only.Java installations are available for Java SE and Java ME separately.
C++ code package
C++ code package contains files necessary to use MsgConnect on Windows 32-bit, Windows CE/PocketPC, Linux, QNX, FreeBSD platforms. C++ code is ANSI-compliant and POSIX-compliant so there must be no problems with running MsgConnect on other versions of Unix. If you succeed in using MsgConnect on other platforms, please let us know.
Delphi code package
Delphi code package contains files necessary to use MsgConnect in Windows and Linux development. The source code is suitable for use with Borland Delphi 5-7, Delphi 2005, Delphi 2006, Delphi 2007 and Borland Kylix 1-3.
Borland C++ Builder is not officially supported, although it is possible to compile MsgConnect files for this development tool. To use MsgConnect with Borland C++ Builder you can use C++ code package.
Java 2 SE/EE code package
Java 2 SE/EE code package contains files necessary to use MsgConnect with Java 2 platform (Standard and Enterprise editions only).
Java 2 Micro edition (J2ME) is not supported with this code package. To use MsgConnect with J2ME you need to use J2ME code package.
Java 2 ME code package
Java 2 Micro edition (J2ME) code package can be used with J2ME platform. MIDP 1.0 and MIDP 2.0 are supported.
Personal Java is not supported with this code package as Sun has stopped support and development of this version of Java.
ActiveX code package
ActiveX code package includes ActiveX controls that can be used on Windows, with any development tool that supports ActiveX.
DLL code package
DLL code package includes dynamically linked library (DLL) that can be used on Windows with any development tool that supports DLL.
.NET code package
.NET code package is designed for .NET development. It is created with C# source code.
Currently .NET code package of MsgConnect can be used with Microsoft .NET runtime (including .NET Compact Framework) and Mono.
